“What is Love?” Photography Contest

Hello to all my romantics out there! The Board of Student Publications (BOSP) is hosting another photography contest. Hawai’i Student Success Institute 2019

Join your UHCC colleagues at the Hawai’i Student Success Institute, March 1, 2019 at the Hawai’i Convention Center!


The keynote session, “Defining Student Success: Lessons from the Aspen Prize” will feature Josh Wyner as he share’s lessons from Aspen Prize-winning institutions about how high and improving levels of student success are achieved.  Using concrete examples from the field, he will make the case for how colleges can substantially increase completion rates while at the same time strengthening the connection between student success in college and key post-completion outcomes.

Join us for a KRSP II Q&A / Pre-Submission Workshop, Wednesday Jan 30, 2:00 pm in Olona 201.

KRSP II provides support for teams of KapCC faculty and professional staff to explore a learning outcomes assessment research project that attracts their interest. Project support includes assistance with planning the project, analyzing the data collected, and publishing and presenting the results, as well as a stipend. This is a great opportunity to take a deeper dive into an aspect of student learning that piques your curiosity.

ALL Auxiliary Services, Civil Service, and APT’s are you encouraged to Register for the Hawaii Student Success Institute 2019.  It is open to all Civil Service, APT, Operations employees of Kapi’olani CC and the University of Hawai‘i Community Colleges on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 7:45 a.m. with registration and breakfast. General assembly starts at 8:45 a.m event ends at 4:30p.m.

This year’s theme is “Integrated Student Support: A Holistic Approach”

Kapiʻolani CC, Maui College partner to offer new online business IT degree

Beginning in the Fall Semester of 2019, our students can work toward a new bachelor of applied science degree in applied business and information technology (ABIT) from the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College.

The curricula for this online degree emphasizes business and stresses the importance of using the skills and knowledge of information technology effectively. The ABIT program also includes an interdisciplinary focus on liberal arts courses in the humanities, social sciences, English, communication and mathematics.

We need nominations from Kapi‘olani CC! The Wo Learning Champions Generation XIII is seeking applications for the Community Building Award and the Change Agent Award. All faculty, clerical, APT, and custodial staff are eligible. 

The Community Building Award recognizes an individual or team who encourages diversity and inclusion in a course, program, office, or institution of their college.

The Change Agent Award recognizes an individual or team who has increased the awareness, appreciation, inclusion, and/or practice of Hawaiian values and culture in a course, program, office, or institution of their college.
