Mahalo, Kapi`olani Ohana!

The Hawai`i Foodbank truck just left campus to transport our donated packaged and canned good items to their warehouse in Mapunapuna. Puni, the lone driver, apologized for being late to pick up our donations. He explained that they are short of staff. But Puni was full of smiles and genuinely grateful for the gifts of food that the College is donating to feed the hungry.

Using his scale, our 9 boxes of canned and packaged items plus a 50# bag of rice weighed-in at approximately 476 pounds. Three weeks ago, we submitted cash and checks totaling $745.

We did very well with our gifts!

If the 2015 Hawai`i Foodbank food drive was pitched as a contest, there is no doubt that the items collected from Student Activities would have won, hands down. The Student Activities Office filled 4-1/2 of the 9 boxes of food items collected. Thank you!

Mahalo plenty, Kapi`olani Ohana!
