Childcare Available for Fall at Kapi’olani CC and LCC’s Children’s Centers

The Early Childhood Education department would like to message the faculty and students at KCC and LCC to inform them about vacancies at the ‘Alani Children’s Center (KCC) and LCC Children’s Center. Please email Caroline Soga, licaroli@hawaii.edu Honolulu CC’s Early Childhood Education Program Coordinator if students or faculty have any questions.

Here is the breakdown for each campus:

Leeward Community College Children’s Center: 6 openings for 3-5yrs

‘Alani Children’s Center: 8 openings for 2-3yrs old
4 openings for 4-5yrs old

Welcome Yokohama City University!

Please welcome Yokohama City University from Japan to KCC campus from Wednesday, July 31. to Friday, August 2, 2019.

8 students and 1 chaperone from Yokohama, Japan will study at KCC for a three-days intensive English program.

This program focuses on developing English presentation skills as well as communicating skills with patients and health care professionals at clinical setting. In addition, this course includes Ho’okipa Me Ke Aloha workshop to have a better understanding of the community of Hawai’i. This program is specifically designed to help the students of Yokohama City University on extending their horizons to become a capable nurse with international perspectives, and to be prepared for providing individual presentation in English at the international conferences.

Learn more about enhancing your ERS pension and Social Security by attending this 30 minute workshop sponsored by the Island Savings Plan. This will be a “lunch-n-learn” session by bringing your own brown bag lunch.

President’s Emerging Leaders 2019-2020 Co-Hort

Congratulations to Amy Cook (Maida Kamber Center) and  Sunny Pai (Library and Learning Resources) who have been appointed as Kapi‘olani CC’s participants in the President’s Emerging Leaders Program (PELP). They will join faculty and staff selected from the other UH campuses and system offices to participate in the 2019-20 cohort of this professional development program designed to identify and prepare future leaders within the University of Hawai‘i System. We are proud to have Amy and Sunny represent Kapi‘olani in this distinguished program.
