Is Your Counselor Awesome?

Is there a teacher, librarian, counselor, or any other faculty or lecturer who has inspired you this academic year at Kapiʻolani Community College? It’s easy to complain about a bad teacher (we’ve all done it), but what about recognizing the great ones — telling them what an excellent job they are doing and how they have impacted your life. This is also your opportunity to recognize them for an award!

Don’t delay! It will take a minute to nominate someone, click on this link now!

Nawa‘a Napoleon: Educator of the Year

Dear KCC ‘Ohana,

Please join me in congratulating our very own Nawa‘a Napoleon, Chair of the Languages, Linguistics and Literature department and Chair of Kalāualani (KCC’s Native Hawaiian Council).

The Native Hawaiian Education Association (NHEA) has chosen Nawa’a as one of three Educators of the Year for 2015. He will be a panelist and honored for his role as an outstanding educator at the NHEA convention in March.

Nawa‘a has been an advocate for student success throughout his career and it is wonderful when another organization recognizes his work not only at KCC but also in the community.

Ho‘omaika‘i iā ‘oe, e Nawa‘a!

Chancellor Leon Richards
