Literary Reading November 30th featuring Lisa Kanae, Eric Chock, and Darrell H.Y. Lum

Lisa Linn Kanae will be doing a literary reading with Bamboo Ridge founding editors Eric Chock and Darrell H.Y. Lum, 9:15-10:30 a.m.,  Thursday, November 30, in the Lama Library Alcove.  Please let your students and any interested people know about the reading.   The reading is free and open to the public.

Lisa Kanae is the author of Sista Tongue and Islands Linked by Ocean.   Darrell H.Y. Lum is the author of Sun: Stories and Drama and Pass On, No Pass Back.  Eric Chock is the author of Last Days Here.

The CAC functions as one of the Chancellor’s mechanisms for presenting and discussing issues, concerns, and ideas for the purpose of consulting with campus leaders in areas of campus life.

The outcomes from the “talk story” session will be brought back to the CAC for a vote, so please make every effort to attend. In Spring 2016, four Institutional Learning Outcomes (ILOs) were drafted for the College:

“Within professional, civic, and personal contexts, and in the pursuit of their current individual learning goals, KCC students are able to:

  • Use critical and creative thinking and reasoning.
  • Communicate clearly and appropriately.
  • Demonstrate an active awareness of the Hawaiian Islands and the rich diversity of its peoples, in particular the values and history of the indigenous culture.
  • Make contributions to their communities.”

WORKSHOP: Adobe Spark Posts & Pages

Student Undergraduate Research Fair – Weds 12/6 & Thurs 12/7

Kapiʻolani Community College STEM Program invites you to S.U.R.F with us at the Student Undergraduate Research Fair (S.U.R.F) today, Wednesday, December 6th & Thursday, December 7th, at `Ōhi`a Cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and at Lama Library from 9:30 a.m. – 12p.m

This two-day event is a showcase of the undergraduate research projects of our very own Kapiʻolani Community College students.
