Facilitated by Puna Sabagala and Kirra Sumida, Kūlia ma Kapiʻolani
Puna Sabagala is the Interim Program Coordinator for Kūlia ma Kapiʻolani – The Native Hawaiian CTE Program at Kapiʻolani Community College. He has been working in the higher education academic field for 6 years in various advising and program coordinator positions at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and now, Kapiʻolani Community College. He is grateful for any opportunity he can get to watch students grow to their full potential, gain self-actualization, and become active members of the community.
Kierra Sumida is the Education Specialist for Kūlia ma Kapiʻolani – The Native Hawaiian CTE Program at Kapiʻolani Community College (KCC). She graduated from KCC in Spring 2018 with her A.A. in Liberal Arts and Hawaiian Studies. And then went on to pursue her BA in Communications from UH Mānoa where she graduated in May of this year. In addition to her work here at KCC she also works part time at Kamehameha Schools as an assistant hula teacher. She looks forward to working with all of you to serve our students!
The Native Hawaiian CTE Program at Kapiʻolani Community College: This program assists Native Hawaiian students who are pursuing degrees in career and technical education (CTE) and STEM programs to both graduate and find employment in their chosen field.
