Aloha to all Kapi‘olani Community College faculty, staff, and student employees!

As you have heard, the State of Hawai’i is transitioning to direct deposit enrollment through the new State payroll system, Hawai’i Information Portal, or “HIP” that will come with Automated Clearinghouse (“ACH”) direct deposit. The new system will allow employees to manage their direct deposit choices online. Between 12/03/18 7:45am and 12/14/18 5:00pm, all UH employees will need to logon to HIP to enroll in direct deposit.  This special enrollment window is to ensure that UH employees continue to have their net pay directly deposited in their financial institution’s account(s).  As long as employees act during this window, it will prevent the State from having to issue UH employees paper paychecks and maintain their direct deposits starting on 01/04/19.

Please note that enrollment in direct deposit through HIP is required even if the employee is currently signed up for direct deposit. Employees who enroll in direct deposit during the enrollment period will have their current direct deposit transfer to HIP seamless.

As was indicated in the Friday, 11/09/18, UH Announce email, employees will be required to set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for your UH Account and will not be able to access HIP without completing this step.  To assist in completing this step, we have created instructions on how to set-up MFA.  Please refer to the “Duo Set-up Instructions” document attached below.  Although the UH Announce email indicated this must be completed by 11/30/18, employees may continue to enroll in MFA during the direct deposit enrollment period (12/03/18 through 12/14/18)

Refer to the following link for more information on Hawai‘i Pay. Additionally, you can click on the “UH employee page” link in the following link for information specific to UH:
