The Doctor is IN: Burke and Hattori on May 1

You are cordially invited to the last session of “The Doctor is IN” for Spring 2015. We’ll resume next Fall. Join us in the 220 Grille at 3:00 pm on Friday, May 1. There’ll be light refreshments and stimulating discussions. Here are the two presentations:

Hattori, Mary. “Culturally Responsive Educational Technology.” Action research offers a framework for culturally responsive technology in schools. Explores indigenous Learning Theory that are supported by particular technology uses based on experiences of educators indigenous to the U.S. affiliated Pacific Islands.

Burke, Laure . “Online Professional Development: Using Data to Evaluate Program Effectiveness in Preparing Faculty to Teach Online.” A sample of community college faculty participated in an online professional development program. Purpose of study was to determine the relationship between participating in an online professional development program and changes in participants’ self-assessed knowledge about tasks associated with effective online teaching.
