Congratulations Paralegal Program!

It is with great pride that the Business, Legal & Technology Education Department informs the campus that the Paralegal Program received the maximum seven year reapproval from the American Bar Association House of Delegates in August. ABA approval is a mark of quality and requires rigorous and continual program evaluation and improvement. The Paralegal Program received very high commendations and was recognized as “a model and an established Program under the capable, focused and dedicated direction of Susan Jaworowski, J.D., Ph.D.” The report also recognized the quality of online courses taught by Susan and by Kimberly Koide Iwao, and the dedication and knowledge of program counselors Lori Sakaguchi and Flo Abara. The department would like to convey the thanks of the Paralegal program to everyone on campus who participated in the site inspection, including Dean John Richards, Jeri Enokawa, Michelle Samson, Chad Yasuda, Mai Fujii, Kelli Brandvold, and Joanne Whitaker.

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK at Kapi’olani Community College

INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION WEEK at Kapi’olani Community College

One of the signature events on the KapCC campus, International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education, and is held nationwide during the week of Nov. 18-22.

At Kapi’olani Community College we are celebrating our 19th year of IEW, and next year would mark the 32nd year of the KapCC International Festival.

IEW is a huge part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare our students for a global environment and provide students a quality international experience at the college.

Over the years, International Education Week and the International Festival have provided value added enrichment to student learning, providing students with opportunities to increase their understanding of world cultures and traditions, and adding significant value to their educational experiences at the college.

All faculty, staff, and students are invited to participate in the Kapi’olani Community College International Education Week in November!

If you have an event you would like to schedule, please email Carl Hefner with a brief description including ideal day/time and venue.      hefner@hawaii.edu.

Mahalo!
