Walk

Walking Groups! Join us! Everyone is welcome!

Hey all,

Get your walking shoes ready and let’s go! Staff Council is starting our walking groups THIS WEDNESDAY, September 22 and FRIDAY, September 24. Everyone is welcome to join! Meet us at The Great Lawn on the ‘Ilima side at 12pm. We will be walking from 12pm – 1pm. You don’t have to walk the whole time, if you can do 15 minutes then great! Join us or find us around campus.  The Wednesday Walking Group will be led by Romyn Sabatchi (romyn@hawaii.edu) and the Friday Walking Group will be led by Denise Pierson (dpierson@hawaii.edu). This will be every week until December, we will keep you all updated. We will let you know if we adjust times or days at any point. Thank you!

Want a piano?

Does anyone want a piano for department/program related purposes? I’m not sure the last time it was tuned, keys are all there and work. From what I can see, it’s in good condition, the only thing is the wheels that it’s on makes it hard to move. If you want to check it out, it’s at the Office of Student Activities (‘Iliahi 126). We are open from 9:00am – 4:30pm. Please email romyn@hawaii.edu for more information. Thank you!

OSA’s ID machine up and running!

Hi all, OSA’s ID machine and computer is up and running. Feel free to send students for student IDs and/or health badges, thank you! For any questions or more information, please email osa@hawaii.edu or call 808-734-9576. We are open Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 4:30pm for August.

ID machine down in OSA

The Office of Student Activities’ ID machine computer is currently down. We are working with CELTT and our vendor to get our ID machine computer up and going. We anticipate it will be ready around Aug 16. What does that mean? We are not able to make any new student, staff or faculty IDs (or health badges) at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience. What good timing!

But for students who have their Kapi’olani student ID, they are able to come to the office to get it updated and get their UPASS (if they are eligible or would like to purchase). Thank you all!

For any questions, please email osa@hawaii.edu or call at 808-734-9576. Our hours for August are Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 4:30pm.

Parent/Family Talk Story RECAP

Thanks for those that joined! If you are interested in learning more or create a hui with others then please let us know. We did have someone inquire about child care so if anyone has any potential solutions or options then please share that with us. Thank you! The recap is below.

WEDNESDAY! Parent/Family Talk Story!

Hi everyone!

Come to the Parent/Family Talk Story! Presented by Staff Council’s Recognition & Community Building Committee, this is open to all staff and faculty here at Kapi’olani Community College. You can share any tips that you have found effective in working at home while trying to get the kids to do their class or learn how others balance working at home while taking care of a family member! You can also share any stories or funny moments that have happened to you during zoom calls or when you’re simply working. We will use break out rooms so depending on what you are looking for or wanting to talk about, we can do it.
