Description: In our current times, many aspects of job searching have switched over to virtual. Job fairs continue to be an important source of various opportunities. While practicing a firm handshake may not be necessary, there are still ways to be better prepared and maximize one’s potential.

Facilitated by Puna Sabagala and Shirell Bell, Kūlia ma Kapiʻolani

Puna Sabagala is the Interim Program Coordinator for Kūlia ma Kapiʻolani – The Native Hawaiian CTE Program at Kapiʻolani Community College. He has been working in the higher education academic field for 6 years in various advising and program coordinator positions at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa and now, Kapiʻolani Community College. He is grateful for any opportunity he can get to watch students grow to their full potential, gain self-actualization, and become active members of the community.

Shirell Bell is currently the educational assistant for the Kūlia ma Kapiolani program. She earned her BA in Psychology from UH West Oahu. She has worked within the University of Hawaii system over the past 7 years at Honolulu Community College and UH Manoa.

The Native Hawaiian CTE Program at Kapiʻolani Community College: This program assists Native Hawaiian students who are pursuing degrees in career and technical education (CTE) and STEM programs to both graduate and find employment in their chosen field.
