Connect. Engage. Support. Repeat.

Today is July 1, 2020. There are 55 days before the fall semester begins. August 1 is the final deadline to submit online applications, and August 23 is the last day to register online without penalty. Whee!

There are 178 days before Christmas. Whoa, too much information?  The days are whizzing by, and since we have passed the summer solstice, the days will start getting shorter, too.

When better to ask for help? Kapi’olani CC’s Alumni Chapter is assisting the Pāhihi Program for Returning Adults to register for fall classes. There is a gap between the individuals who have been accepted and those who have not yet registered. We are therefore looking for energetic, caring, positive and multi-tasking faculty who would like to volunteer to be part of a phone bank to reach out to these potential students to encourage them to register.

We have a short list of volunteers, but we are putting out a call for more faculty to join in what can be an insightful preview of our future student body. You will be helping to grow our enrollment and providing the early support, the Kūloa‘a, that means so much to this returning adult population. You might be the very person to ignite someone’s life and make it epic.

You will be given a list to work with, you may work from home, and you will be given a script to assist you. Ideally, we would like the calls to be done on July 8-9. More details will be provided when you volunteer. Connect. Engage. Support. Repeat. This pretty much summarizes what you will be doing.
