Your Kapiolani Community College Staff Council want to thank the KCC Ohana for their overwhelming generosity to the first-ever “Howls for Towels” campaign. Donations piled up high at the three drop off sites throughout this month-long campaign.

On Thursday May 31, LeeAnn reported that there were 10 boxes of donations in her office!

WIth the campaign pau, organizers of the drive: Chair Alissa Kashiwada, Immediate Past Chair LeeAnn DeMello & Vice Chair Stan Fichtman will be counting up all the individual items that have been donated. According to the initial report back, there have been donations of all kinds to this drive for the Hawaiian Humane Society.

Everything from food to bags to, of course, towels will go toward fulfilling the mission of the Society in featuring programs and services focused on strengthening the human-animal bond: rescuing the abused, engaging volunteers, fighting for better laws and caring for more than 20,000 animals a year.

Your Staff Council will report on our contribution next week at the time members of the Council will head to the Society to drop off the donations.
