Aloha Kapi’olani CC Faculty, Staff, & Civil Servants,
Today, the Paul S. Honda International Center would like to highlight AUW’s Safety Net and encourage you to consider donating to this important cause.
If you have ever experienced a crisis, you understand that it is an emotional time that can awe, overwhelm, and devastate. In crisis, it feels like there is nowhere to turn, but there are agencies in our community who are always crisis ready. These organizations spring to action and are specifically designed to respond to crisis efficiently and with care. Safety Net funding supports the nonprofits in our community best equipped to address acute crisis. Aloha United Way has more than 100 years of experience working with nonprofits in the social service sector and have a comprehensive view of the social service landscape.
AUW’s network and knowledge is vast and reliable, which means that they have the unique ability to disburse funds and allocate resources for those suffering acute distress. They know the funds will be used efficiently and effectively, helping the most vulnerable in our community.
Whether an individual is experiencing homelessness, hunger, natural disaster, or even something unexpected like a house fire, Safety Net is there to fund the agencies in the best position to help. We assess, evaluate, and help improve Safety Net response each year and funding designated for this purpose quite literally help individuals with nowhere else to turn.
